Frequently asked questions
How do I get to Puerto de Mogán from the southern resorts?
By car on the GC-1 (about 20 minutes from Puerto Rico, 35 from Playa del Inglés). By bus, Global line 91 runs direct from Playa del Inglés and Maspalomas. By ferry taxi from Puerto Rico or Arguineguín, around €8 one way.
Which day is the Puerto de Mogán market?
Every Friday, 08:00 to 14:00. Crafts, local produce (mojo, Canarian cheese), clothes and souvenirs. Arrive before 09:00 for the best choice and to stand a chance of parking.
Is the beach at Puerto de Mogán free?
Yes, access is free. Golden sand and calm water, sheltered from the wind. Sunbeds and parasols cost roughly €3–6 a day. Showers, toilets and a lifeguard are on site.
Which restaurants are worth booking in Puerto de Mogán?
Three that cover different budgets: the Cofradía de Pescadores, run by the fishermen's guild, for whatever came in that morning; Los Guayres for a long, formal dinner; and the marina terraces when the view matters more than the menu.
Is Puerto de Mogán worth visiting?
For a half day, yes. The canals and the bougainvillea lanes are genuinely unlike the rest of the south coast, the beach is sheltered enough for small children, and it is 20–35 minutes from most southern resorts. It is small, though: a full day only fills up if you add the market, a boat trip or the viewpoint walk.
